Post by: YH on December 5, 2012, 07:44

Dear ATK team,

I've installed ATK 12.8.0 on my ubuntu 12.10 operate system. When I'm trying to import a crystal structure from the database, the vnl suddenly failed with the error messages as below, which is never happend to ATK 12.2.2. Thank you very much!

X Error: GLXBadContext 172
  Extension:    154 (Uknown extension)
  Minor opcode: 6 (Unknown request)
  Resource id:  0x3e03fd0
[xcb] Unknown sequence number while processing queue
[xcb] Most likely this is a multi-threaded client and XInitThreads has not been called
[xcb] Aborting, sorry about that.
vnl_exec: ../../src/xcb_io.c:273: poll_for_event: Assertion `!xcb_xlib_threads_sequence_lost' failed.
Aborted (core dumped)

Best regards

I suggest starting by making sure your video driver is the latest from the vendor. Hopefully that will help.

This issue has been solved in ATK 13.8. Ironically, the issue was caused by using too new drivers - older drivers would work better for this particular problem.
