Do you have node-locked license or do you have floating license?

If you have a node locked license, you will need to set the following environment variables:

export LSHOST=no-net
export LSERVRC=/path_to_your_file/your_file

Before you launch VNL, check the output of the following commands in the same terminal:

Code
echo $LSHOST
echo $LSERVRC
ls -l $LSERVRC
