General Questions and Answers / Type of metal used
« on: March 27, 2017, 09:20 »
Hi,

I have question regarding the type of metal used in spatial regions. Because if it is dielectric it can be used as silicon dioxide by changing its dielectric constant by 3.9. But for metallic only voltage can be adjusted. Therefore i wonder what type of this metallic region is?  Besides that, i also wonder what type of electrode used when the structure is convert to device using " device from bulk" option?

Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you

General Questions and Answers / Re: bending AGNR
« on: February 19, 2017, 09:44 »
Thank you for your reply. But I have tried to use much wider width of AGNR up to 30 and it still does not formed tube. I attached the figure of 30-AGNR being wrap at 360 degree. Is there any reason why  AGNR will not form tube by applying 360 degree?
Thank you

General Questions and Answers / bending AGNR

Hi
I have been following exploring graphene and applied the same method in obtaining bending AGNR with various of wraping angle. But I found that below that 180 degree , the bending cannot be noticed and during 360 degree the AGNR does not formed a tube.  Is it possible not to form a tube during 360 degree? The figure below I attached is when the AGNR has been wrap at 360 degree.

General Questions and Answers / Re: Strain
« on: December 19, 2016, 07:22 »
Is there other method to detect strain at the located place in the structure? What i means is the value of strain can be state in the figure below as i  attached. Please note that the figure below is not mine, it is based on other research. However, is there any method that available in Quantum Wise to obtain this type of result?

Thank you

Hi,

I am studying about strain effect in modified GNR structure. After applying strain is there other method to prove that strain is exist in the structure, for example in form of isosurface or different density of colour to state that there is strain effect in the structure?

Thank you

General Questions and Answers / surface to volume ratio
« on: August 10, 2016, 11:54 »
Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding  how to calculate surface to volume ratio for AGNR?
As I know, formula for Surface to volume ratio = surface area/volume
Is this formula valid for AGNR? If it is valid, how to measure the length x width x thickness for the structure?

Thank you.

Thank you Sir for the reply. However how to plot manually the iv curve that the x axis is gate voltage?

Hai Sir,

I have a question about the IV curve. This is IV curve was obtained from the analysis from the script generator in QW. What i would like to confirm is the Bias Voltage is either Drain Voltage or Gate Voltage? I attached the figure of the IV that was obtained and highlighted the bias.

Thank you

Thank you Sir for the reply.

I was thinking is there any way how fast the gas molecule absorb from the  graphene surface?  Not necessary time response graph.

Thank you

Dear Sir,

Yes, I'm thinking of plotting time response graph on how fast does GNR response to the  coverage of adsorbed molecules. What is the procedure to obtain this response time using QW?

Thank you in advance.

Hai, good morning..

I'm trying to simulate AGNR with gas for sensing application. Is there any way to get the time respond when studying sensing properties using QW?

Thank you,,

General Questions and Answers / Re: strain electrode
« on: December 21, 2015, 04:41 »
Hai,

I have try using the merging method that you have shown. But still it not working. Is there any way to make the electrode to be independent without affecting the scattering region. Because when electrode is defected this is what IV that I have obtained and i am not sure the reason of the IV is due to the constriction or the defected electrode or strain?

Now i will try to use the method that you suggested  :)

Thank you

However I did strain at the scattering region but since electrode extension are still consider scattering region the electrode are copied from the scattering region. what and how should i do to avoid the electrode to be strain?
