Title: difference between Nanoribbon and sheet
Post by: marmotte on October 26, 2012, 23:05
Dear all,

It may be considered as stupid question ::), but for me is fundamental. What is the difference between Nanoribbon and sheet in case of graphene or BN ?

best regards,

Like quite many things in this context, it basically comes down to the boundary conditions. The sheet is periodic in 2 directions, the ribbon only in 1, being of finite width in the other.
