Title: WSe2 junction device
Post by: vms on October 10, 2013, 22:56
Dear Sir,

How to build a WSe2 junction device similar to "Graphene junction device - a nanoscale transistor" tutorial.[http://quantumwise.com/documents/tutorials/latest/GrapheneDevice/index.html/]

I have build a WSe2 nanosheet using VNL, now how to construct a nanoscale transistor of WSe2 using VNL by following the steps in the case of graphene nanoscale transistor. I want to enable a dielectric region and a gate potential below the structure.

Kindly suggest some solutions.

1. Build a bulk configuration of a WSe2 nanosheet with sufficient width and length.
2. Convect the configuration in the 1st step into a device configuration;
3. Delete atoms in some parts of left electrode, centre region, and right electrode according to the Z-shape of device;
4. Define the dielectric region of the transistor device.

Thank you so much...
I did the first three steps as you said, but how to define the dielectric region of the transistor(step 4)...is there any option in builder to define that..please let me know as I have just started using this tool...

And as far now i am aiming to calculate the I-V curve of this device, so I am referring, "I-V curve and voltage drop" mini tutorial. [http://quantumwise.com/publications/tutorials/mini-tutorials/98-i-v-curve-and-voltage-drop]
am i in correct path?

Thank you in advance.

In Builder, open Miscellaneous>Spatial regions; right-click to insert regions, set type (metallic/dielectric), then edit properties :)
