Title: Error of VNL concerning band structure analyzer

Dear all,

Yesterday, I updated some add-on plugins for our VNL 2014.1. But when I wanted to open it in this morning, it presented an error.
Could you tell me how to fix this error?

You should not used 2014.1! Update to 2014.2, which contains many bug fixes, and then your plugins will work properly also.

Is it necessary to update the license for 2014.2?

Not if you have a license for 2014.x. In general, we never update the license version between minor versions, i.e., all versions 2014.x use the same license, to be specific version 14.2. So if you have 14.2 or higher, you can use any 2014.x version.
