Title: optical properties
Post by: bina on July 9, 2015, 07:45
Dear sir,
I have calculated the optical the optical properties of heusler alloy through the SGGA parametrization ... my question are ..
1. in quantum wise tutorial  susceptibility tensor is the sum of the spin up and spin down ... if i want to find the separate dielectric susceptibility for the spin up and spin down then .. how it is possible?
2. whether consider the interband transition and intrabend transtion or both of them?

Dear QW staff members...

I too have the doubt regarding optical spectrum of atk-vnl. Whether it uses interband or intraband transition only, or both of them.

The method we use is documented here
http://quantumwise.com/documents/manuals/latest/ReferenceManual/index.html/ref.opticalspectrum.html

Dear Dr. Anders,

I went through the reference manual of optical spectrum long before posting this querry. It was never mentioned anywhere in the reference manual whether the optical spectrum  considers only interband transition or both (interband, intraband) transitions.

I request you to please clarify the doubt...
thank you sir.
