Dear all,
In the Device Density of States section of the page http://docs.quantumwise.com/tutorials/silicon_pn_junction.html, there are 3 figs showing the projected DDOS and electrostatic difference potential (EDP) (see below). Am I right to regard the EDP as the conduction or vanlence band edge?

thanks!

No, not quite. The white lines indicate the EDP along the transport direction, but aligned wrt. the band edges. The band edges themselves are calculated by mapping out the band gap along the device (determined from the energies at which the DeviceDOS is lower than some tolerance, 0.01/eV in the tutorial). The bare EDP says nothing about the band edges, but by aligning the EDP with the band edges, you can see that the variation of the EDP and the DDOS along the transport direction is quite similar.
