How to define [110] transport direction
« on: May 6, 2014, 08:21 »
Hello sir,
I want the wafer surface in orientation in [100] direction and transport in [110] direction.
I am able to cleave the surface in [100] direction but have no idea about how to define the transport axis i.e. C axis in [110] direction.
Please tell me how can I do that.

Thanks

You can rotate the supercell of cleaved (110) surface to adjust its normal direction to be along the z direction.

Thanks for your quick reply Mr. zh.
But I don't know how to rotate the supercell to adjust its normal direction to be along the z direction.
Can you please tell me the steps.

You can also try to swap axes such that the C vector and z axes are aligned along the [110] direction.

From Bulk Tools->Swap Axes.
