Hi all :

i am cleave the (111) surface of Au, when it come "the finalize output configuaration"

it shows the option of "out of plane cell vector V3 is" and one of choice is  periodic  and normal (electrode)

firstly, i do not know what is the meaning ? i means the v3 is normal to the (111)surface and is parallel to the z axis(transport direction)?

i.e, the z axis is the normal of the cleaved (111) surface?

i need your help

thanks
