Gate Potential of GNR
« on: February 1, 2015, 05:06 »
I don't really understand this tutorial.

http://www.quantumwise.com/documents/tutorials/latest/GrapheneDevice/index.html/chap.gatepotential.html

Based on this tutorial, do I need to build the structure of the GNR from the Builder tools? Then, should I export the configuration into the Editor or Script Generator?
Should I build the metallic region in the Builder tools or not?

Thank you.

yes, you build the structure and define the gate geometry with the Builder tools as described in here
Building a graphene junction device and here
Building a longer graphene junction device.

you set up your script with the Scripter as described in here Setting up the calculation in the Script Generator

you only need the Editor in the section you refer (or you can download the scripts linked in the tutorial, gatescan-6-6.py for example) to run the gate scan, calculate the gate potentials, and so on...
