Graphene junction device
« on: January 21, 2016, 14:09 »
There is tutorial for graphene junction device. But the channel shape is Z shaped. (Zigzag GNR electrodes and Armchair GNR channel). Is it possible to build the device with zigzag GNR electrodes and Armchair GNR for channel but in the straight shape and no Z shape?
Thank You!

Yes, that should certainly be possible. You just need to build the electrodes and the central region separately, and then fuse them together as you like (drag-and-drop configurations in the Builder Stash  onto each other, and use the "Move" tool).

thank you dear Jess, But when I merge them, I can not create a perfect honeycomb structure at their junction! But based on the tutorial, when we rotate 30 degree the central region (armchair GNR), then their molecules fit and create a honeycomb at the junction!(Pleas see the attachment)

It is definitely that the junction between armchair edge and zigzag edge couldn't form a perfect a honeycomb (i.e., all  are hexagonal rings). Some topological defects (i.e., non-hexagonal rings) could appear if these two types of edge are merged together.
