General Questions and Answers / Type of metal used
« on: March 27, 2017, 09:20 »
Hi,

I have question regarding the type of metal used in spatial regions. Because if it is dielectric it can be used as silicon dioxide by changing its dielectric constant by 3.9. But for metallic only voltage can be adjusted. Therefore i wonder what type of this metallic region is?  Besides that, i also wonder what type of electrode used when the structure is convert to device using " device from bulk" option?

Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you

General Questions and Answers / bending AGNR
« on: February 19, 2017, 05:30 »
Hi
I have been following exploring graphene and applied the same method in obtaining bending AGNR with various of wraping angle. But I found that below that 180 degree , the bending cannot be noticed and during 360 degree the AGNR does not formed a tube.  Is it possible not to form a tube during 360 degree? The figure below I attached is when the AGNR has been wrap at 360 degree.

General Questions and Answers / Strain
« on: December 18, 2016, 07:15 »
Hi,

I am studying about strain effect in modified GNR structure. After applying strain is there other method to prove that strain is exist in the structure, for example in form of isosurface or different density of colour to state that there is strain effect in the structure?

Thank you

General Questions and Answers / surface to volume ratio
« on: August 10, 2016, 11:54 »
Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding  how to calculate surface to volume ratio for AGNR?
As I know, formula for Surface to volume ratio = surface area/volume
Is this formula valid for AGNR? If it is valid, how to measure the length x width x thickness for the structure?

Thank you.

General Questions and Answers / iv curve
« on: May 12, 2016, 05:15 »
Hai Sir,

I have a question about the IV curve. This is IV curve was obtained from the analysis from the script generator in QW. What i would like to confirm is the Bias Voltage is either Drain Voltage or Gate Voltage? I attached the figure of the IV that was obtained and highlighted the bias.

Thank you

General Questions and Answers / time respond
« on: March 25, 2016, 05:58 »
Hai, good morning..

I'm trying to simulate AGNR with gas for sensing application. Is there any way to get the time respond when studying sensing properties using QW?

Thank you,,

General Questions and Answers / strain electrode
« on: December 15, 2015, 04:19 »
Hai, Good morning  :D :D

I have introduce strain in following structure. But when adding electrode the electrode are also in strain. Does it consider defect electrode? How to make sure that electrode are not strain? How can i run structure that are strain on channel only without affecting the electrode?

Thanks in advance  :)

General Questions and Answers / Band gap
« on: October 12, 2015, 05:05 »
Hi,
When running simulation i achieved this type of band structure where i could not obtain the band gap value.
Is this consider that it has no band gap? Because valance band is on the Fermi level or it is consider as p type even no doping is used?  Here i attach the figure of the band structure.

Thank you in advance

General Questions and Answers / gate voltage
« on: September 8, 2015, 06:07 »
Hi,

i would like to  know if my steps to add metal and oxide to the structure is either right or wrong?
This is because the problem that i encounter is when the gate voltage is varied from 1V to 5V but the IV that i obtained is the same.
i attach the  structure figure using GNR and value of gate voltage below. After setting the values from the builder is sent to script generator and IVCurve is taken from the analysis the bias voltage is set till 3V, and lastly sent to job manager. Is there any steps that im missing. What should i do?  :'( :'(

General Questions and Answers / IV
« on: August 26, 2015, 05:24 »
Hai,,

From the attachment below, the IV obtain is from defected GNR. Does the IV is consider saturate? because there is spike at bias voltage of 2.5 V above.

General Questions and Answers / calculate strain percentage
« on: August 19, 2015, 07:36 »
 Dear all,

I have used the stretch cell to add strain into GNR.
However I am confused on how to calculate the percentage of the strain for GNR structure?
does the stretch factor in the builder is equivalent to the strain percentage?

Thank you in advance for your quick response.
