Custom builder in qw 2015 version
« on: November 23, 2015, 10:28 »
Why isn't the custom builder present in the 2015 version?
I was trying to use the python script given in the tutorial to check the length of electrode but am unable to do so.

Thanks in advance! :)

Most of the builders in the Custom Builders have been translated in official and supported plugins directly in the Builder.
You can get and change the size of your electrodes from the Builder with Device Tools -> Electrode Size.

Actually, that is not the problem.
This tutorial
http://quantumwise.com/publications/tutorials/item/115-how-to-set-up-the-electrodes-properly-in-a-two-probe-system
has a script mentioned in it
http://quantumwise.com/images/stories/mini-tutorials/electrode_length/check_electrode_length.py
to check whether the length of the electrode is proper or not.

I am unable to use the script since the the custom builder functionality is not present anymore.

I suggest you instead use the new "Electrode Validator" tool in the top of the right-hand panel in VNL:
- In Builder, use the "Split device" icon to split the device into centralregion + 2 electrodes.
- In Scripter, setup a calculation for one of the electrodes (or both electrodes if they are different).
- Run the calculation (which is real fast).
- On LabFloor, use the Electrode Validator to check if the electrode size is OK.
