Installation and License Questions / Installation and Running Issues in Ubuntu

Dear All,
Could you please help me to install in Ubuntu 12.04 . 64 bit System.
1. At first I got some errors saying missing some library. It is fixed by downloading those libs. (fixed)
2.Now VNL  fails to start up. The icon  or script vnl does not work. (not fixed)
I can ofcourse go and run the program by terminal. But i cant use those graphical interface to make the models.

Tried logging out.
rebooting..
doe not solve the problem.
