Question about Tunneling Effect in MIM

If an external bias voltage is applied on the two metal of MIM, in order to calculate the tunneling  probability.

How about the change of fermi energy of metal, the applied voltage make the fermi level of the left metal rise or the right metal rise?

This is taken care of internally in ATK properly, as long as the system is set up properly and the bias is applied in the calculator.
