The not responding issue of 2017 version VNL

Hi,
Every time I try to open the VNL on my laptop it stuck and show the "not responding"  for a while, sometimes 10 mins, 20mins, and then it resumes normal to use.
This issue bothers a lot. Is there a way to solve this?

Could it be that you have a lot of files selected in the project? In that case, VNL tries to run through all of them on start-up and that can take some time. Could you try opening it with another (small) project and see if it helps?

We have worked on optimizing this behavior, so you should see much less waiting time in O-2018.06.

I believe it is the case. I think I just have too many files in my project.
Why the VNL run through all of them at the startup even though  I am not trying to open any file but simply open the VNL itself?

If they are selected, it is part of loading the project, so you will have less waiting time later. If you de-select them, it should be faster to open VNL next time.
