Electron and Hole Current
« on: March 4, 2013, 13:18 »
hello Everyone
I made a gold-ZigZag CNT-gold and calculated its IV characteristics, now I need to know the contribution of electrons and holes to that current.. so is there any way in ATK to get electron and hole current separately..

There is no such thing as holes ;) it's just a missing electron.

So a hole current is an electron current going the opposite way.

But you could try to get the separated currents by doing a manual integration of the transmission spectrum - the formula for how to get the current from the transmission is given in the reference manual, so you can just sum it up over the relevant energy interval as a simple approximation, instead of over the entire bias window as the method "current()" does.
